The American Medical Association’s Internal Medicine Journal (JAMA) by Rodrigues et al. (2024) demonstrates that Tirzepatide (aka: Mounjaro/Zepbound) is superior to Semaglutide (aka: Ozempic/Wegovy) for weight loss. In a large, retrospective, matched cohort study of 41,222 adults meeting study criteria, patients receiving target dose Tirzepatide 5mg were significantly more likely to achieve weight loss over patients taking target dose Semaglutide (0.5mg).
