Apretude is now FDA-approved for use in at-risk adults of all sexes for pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) to reduce the risk of sexually acquired HIV. Apretude is given first as two initiation injections administered one month apart, and then every two months thereafter. Coverage is available through health insurance or the drug manufacturer’s patient assistance program. Apretude is available at UltaMed.
